In the middle of Sardinia there is a magical place where the nature is almost intact, and where are living the last wild horses of Europe. That place is the giara of Gesturi. The whole area, of about 4500 surface hectares, will offer you a wild experience in nature with this wonderful horses. The place has many path where to walk and many small ponds where the horses usually stays, mostly in summer due to the hot temperatures. Fortunately there is a woodland where they can stay in shade, and where you can have a rest.

You'll arrive from Gesturi village, following the several signal in the village itself. Once got in the place there is a car park, quite big, and a bike rent, if you don't wnat to walk.

In the area near the giara there is a small waterfall, "sa spedula della giara" , but with water only in winter and early spring. And if you are keen in nuraghe, there is the most beautiful and biggest nuraghe of Sardinia, the "su nuraxi" in Barumini village.
