When I've time, I like to travel a bit on my own. Short trip near I live, perhaps place not well known or where you don't often go, like a small waterfall inside a wood, or some little flowers over a beautiful cliff near the sea.

The trip starts with a raptor, the common buzzard:

The day doesn't start really well: the sky is dark and sometimes rains, but I'm lucky because I hear, in the distance, the voice of the horned owls, and I'm happy because I know that I'll be able to go a day to see them. After the voice of the peregrine falcon calms me, because I'm always worried about its life: this is the nesting season, a really particular moment of their life, where it's easy that something goes wrong.

After all, the buzzard arrives, with its beauty. How always I'm ready for its arrival, but how always I can't understand when it arrives on the roost, because it's too silent. One moment there isn't, one moment there is! It's wet for the rain and stays a bit on the ground, then it flies away, but I can take some pictures before. Going away, I bumped into a Barbary Partridge. It's on the side of the road, so I stop the car and try some photo:

but it's too far from me, however, it's really beautiful with its colours.

It's still early, so I go near the sea where there are some interesting place that I know, but quite far to do by foot. Fortunately, with my car I can go there quite well, even if I have to stay careful to don't ruin the vegetation or leave depth grooves on the ground. Today is windy and the sea is rough, so it permits me to take some long exposure photo and some photo about the waves on the rocks:

The moment relaxes me really and I can admire the coast and the birds living on the cliffs: seagull and Eurasian Jackdaw. The spring in Sardinia is always an explosion of colours, good nature smells, and animal life. And just in spring arrive the bee-eaters, so I've gone to find them, and I've found one, so they'are arriving and soon I'll be able to photograph them. I can't wait!!

In Sardinia, there's often the problem of the water lacks, but this year I think we won't have any problem because of the plentiful rains of this period, how you can see in this photo:

This is a small waterfall near a small village. The rains have swelled the river over the waterfall, so there's plenty of water, too much water, so that it makes a dirty foam on the water, and I can't find a good position to take the photo. I'll have to return the next time, when there will be less water.

But Sardinia is not only the sea, Sardinia is also lands, small mountains and green hills, like this:

a little corner of paradise, where the silence is broken only by the voice of birds or by some far dog, and by some car that passes sometime in the road!!!! But the same road bring me to a magic place where live the golden eagle, called the queen of the sky.

In this photo you can see the size difference with the common raven. I know the place where the eagle live by some years, but take some beautiful photo is really hard, because it's needed much time to study the eagle and understand where its flies, so I've always waited, but a day I'll try seriously, not before to have taken some decent pictures of the peregrine falcon and, perhaps, of the goshawk. but this is another story.
